What to expect for the Teacher Training Intensive:
You should come to the intensive prepared. If time permits, please become familiar with two of our yoga sets Atma Yoga 1.0 and Atma Power Yoga. You will be required to have memorized part of the Power yoga set called the Strength Series before the intensive which will allow you to take full advantage of the Practice teaching components of the intensive. This will all be provided to you before the training when registration and payment is completed.
The 12 day schedule is intense, but designed to help you find your teaching core and give you the foundation to be the best teacher you can be.
- posture workshops
- yoga twice-a-day
- presentation skills
- small group work
- developing advanced sadhana
- practice teaching classes
- seminar on creating a yoga business
- partner yoga and Mantric tantric
- personal study time

- Twice daily yoga : There will be two yoga classes a day during the 12 day intensive training, sometimes three. These will give you a clear conception of how the classes are taught.
- Clinics: Every day you will have a clinic either on the various aspects of the yoga class such as asana and breathing, or on presentation skills.
- Presentation skills : One of the biggest stumbling blocks potential teachers suffer from is lack of confidence. Atma Yoga has an amazing and systematic process for creating confident, charismatic teachers. We place a great deal of attention on developing expert presentation skills. A confident, professional delivery of yoga instruction is as important as understanding the content. This part of program also teaches people to deal with nervousness and anxiety as well as to release repressed emotions. Atma uses a unique blend of yoga and presentation science to bring out the best in future teachers.
- Practicum time : A portion of the afternoon is dedicated to memorizing and practicing the many elements that go into making a confident yoga teacher.
- The business of yoga: marketing, design, getting jobs, and putting together your own center are some of the subjects covered in this segment.
- Partner Yoga/Mantric Tantric : This is a new event which incorporates the innovation of partner yoga starting with combined physical movements and ending with partner mantra meditation. Mantric tantric gives yoga students an intensive immersion into japa (mantra repetition) by using only mantras of the highest degree of purity and non-sectarianism in a series of 60 and 30 minute partner meditations. The result is the most extraordinary experience of Vedic sound vibration a person can have in a single day.
