Since 2001, Atma Yoga has been developing a Teacher Training program that is the only one of its kind in the world. What makes Atma Yoga so unique is that it focuses on the internal process of becoming a powerful teacher. Atma Yoga gives you the tools and techniques to improve as a teacher from the inside out.

“You can learn from anyone how to sequence and align people with postures – only Atma yoga teacher training can teach you ‘HOW’ to connect people to YOGA”.

Atma yoga combines Hatha Yoga (preparatory yoga) and Bhakti Yoga (Devotion to God). While most of the Western world has embraced yoga in the form of asana practice and almost all teacher training programs focus primarily on learning the physical aspects of yoga, Atma Yoga Teacher Training takes a different path and teaches you ‘HOW’ to teach rather than ‘WHAT’ to teach.

Using yoga psychology, and the application of ancient techniques from the Himalayan Yogis and the Bhakti yoga tradition, Atma Yoga Teacher Training will transform your consciousness, your perceptions and rebuild your nervous system, thereby producing teachers who teach by example and who make a commitment to continually develop spiritual strength, virtue, intuition and charisma.

* Timeless Sanskrit Texts – the principles of Atma Yoga are described in the timeless Sanskrit texts called the Vedas. The primary sources of information on Atma Yoga are Bhagavad Gita, Srimad Bhagavatam, Siva Samhita and other Puranic and Upanishadic texts.

* Teach or Deepen Your Practice – Whether you feel a call to teach others and be an instrument of transformation, or if you are simply looking for a deeper, more spiritual experience of your yoga practice, Atma Yoga Teacher Training is sure to take you to a new level of ability and self awareness.

* Intensive Immersion – Our 12 day intensive is a powerful immersion into yoga practice, yoga psychology and the science of presentation skills.

* Ancient Practices Unique to Atma Yoga – The physical aspects of many of the yogic practices we teach are unique to Atma Yoga and come from an ancient repository. Many are being introduced for the first time in the modern era – Himalayan yoga, Bhakti yoga etc.

* Learn to Teach a Variety of Students – training focuses on knowing the physical and subtle aspects of the asanas and how to both increase and decrease the intensity of the practice so it can be adjusted to various body types and personalities.

* Yoga as a tool for personal transformation – Our lifestyle and philosophy classes focus on a simplified understanding of…’Utilising everything we have in the service of the Divine’ and ‘How to do the least for yourself so that you do the most for others’. The goal of the philosophy segment is to help yoga teachers understand the psychological potential of yoga as tool for personal transformation.
